About Me

Hi! I’m Rachel Hartwick. I’m a journalism: strategic communication major at Ohio University’s E. W. Scripps School of Journalism. I’m also pursuing a minor in marketing, a global leadership certificate and a specialization in creative writing. I’m a writer, digital strategist, creative thinker, traveler, innovator, news junkie and coffee addict. You can usually find me running or biking, re-watching episodes of Parks and Recreation, or searching for the perfect craft beer.

Most recently, I worked as an intern at Walker Sands Communications in Chicago, helping B2B tech clients get their messages across in a concise and creative way.

Prior to Walker Sands, I served as a digital strategy intern at Rad Campaign, a small digital agency that works specifically for nonprofits and progressive clients. I’ve worked with a number of notable clients, including Craiglist’s Craig Newmark and Grubhub.

My first experience with nonprofit was interning for the Cincinnati Homeless Coalition in 2015. In addition to covering events, protests and marches, I wrote bi-weekly feature stories on people experiencing poverty. It’s there that I decided I wanted to use my passion for writing to make the world a better place.

I’ve since expanded this passion globally – I recently traveled to Cambodia for a school project, where I helped a multi-million dollar conglomerate refine their corporate social responsibility services and approach to sustainability.

I believe in tackling life with a positive attitude and an open mind. I’m always looking for new opportunities related to content strategy, creative services or digital/advertising. Let’s chat.
